Malandrino Spring 2011 RTW

Here are eight looks from Catherine Maladrino's Spring 2011 Collection. I absolutely fell in love with it when I saw it, from the colors she used, to the detailed shoes and straw hats, everything is amazing. I really see a 70s vibe to this, with the crochet, flowly shapes and wide leg trousers and don't even get me started with those harem pants and jumpers. Awesome. - XO andrea

DOWNLOAD NOW: Ratatat

One part guitarist and the other part producer, Ratatat knows how to deliver pure instrumental, electro-rock. This electronic music duo are becoming the kings of synthesizers and the brains behind some popular tracks that have been released in the past year, like Kid Cudi's Pursuit of Happiness. Their talent hasn't gone unnoticed if you look at the past bands they have toured with; from top-notch electronic pioneers, Daft Punk, to indie rockers, Interpol and The Killers. Ratatat is catchy but unique, a quality that most music this day lacks. - XO andrea

The Haunting

October is right around the corner, which means Halloween is almost here! Not only do I love dressing up and turning into a character but it also means my 21st birthday is a week away! These shots from the October issue of Vogue France were clearly inspired by the spookiest night of the year. XO - andrea

P.S. What are all of you fashionistas dressing up as? I'm thinking Wonder Woman for me :)

Electric Couture

Here are a few shots of the new shipment we received at my work (Electric Boutique/Electric Couture in Miami, FL). We got mostly casual and versatile pieces. The owner tried out a whole new concept in styling and hired a professional photographer for the photoshoot. The shots came out great and the clothes and acessories are amazing. I'll be saying goodbye to most of my paycheck once I get paid. Haha enjoy - XO andrea

STYLE MUSE: Gillian Zinser

I'm not a huge fan of the TV series remake, 90210, but the other day while I was waiting for Gossip Girl to start I caught a few minutes of the end. That is when I was introduced to the fabulous Gillian Zinser, who plays Ivy Sullivan on the show. I was immediately intrigued by her style and looked her up and to my surprise her character has the same amazing style off screen. Gillian has a really cool, hippie vibe to her; untamed blonde hair and a laidback attitude. I'm really, but I mean really digging her style; she's one to look out for. - XO andrea

TREND: Over the Knee Boots

If you don't already have a pair of over the knee boots go out and find some now! This boot trend is the latest transitional item to be worn right into Fall weather. Whether they're flat boots or sky high heels, both are versatile and sure to make a statement. Here are some styling tips to smoothly transition your over the knee boots into cold weather:

  • Pair your high heeled over the knee boots now with some short shorts, a mini skirt or a cute dress.
  • To avoid looking like Sandra Bullock in Pretty Woman, top off your shorts or skirt with a loose fitting top; for example, a sheer printed button up.
  • When colder weather starts seeping in, sheer or opaque tights look great under your over the knee boots. You can even wear thigh high socks in a contrasting color and let them peek out from under.
  • Remember, less is more. These boots already make a statement so be conscious about the rest of your outfit. - XO andrea

Vena Cava Spring 2011 RTW

Here are some of my favorite looks from the Vena Cava Spring 2011 ready to wear collection. As I looked through the gallery it was hard to choose my favorite pieces because I loved them all! The color palette were mostly basic colors and the style was very minimalist. I also loved the turbans and platforms the models were wearing. The collection featured flowy dresses and skirts, crop tops and tailored pants and jackets. Enjoy! - XO andrea

DOWNLOAD NOW: Theophilus London

I was doing my usual internet browsing when I came across this Brooklyn native named Theophilus London. No, that's not his alias but his real name, as well as his stage name. Theophilus is one of the hottest new rappers coming out of New York and his musical style is fresh and completely out of the hip-hop spectrum. His songs are a mix of all genres, ranging from electro to soul, making his mixtape an eclectic mix of samples and melodies. Some people say Theophilus is another Kid Cudi, but my love for Cudi will never be replaced. Theophilus isn't an MC but a talented artist who not only can express his creativity through his music but through fashion, which I love! I can't believe I hadn't heard of this guy and I'm so glad I did. Check out his mixtapes "I Want You" and "This Charming" - XO andrea

Jungle Fever

I find it crazy how addicting media can be. Music and my laptop are two things that are essential for me to live each day and two things that completely distract me from what I really should be doing. Instead of reading for a quiz tomorrow, here I am on the internet checking out the newest fashion spreads and came across the perfect one - "Jungla de Asfalto". The spread features model Taylor Kraemer in the September issue for Elle Mexico. Why perfect? Well, specifically for the name; Jungla de Asfalto is the spanish translation for Plastic Jungle. Hehe :D - XO andrea
