Deadbeat Summer

Today was my last day of Fall semester and my summer has officially started! Words can't express how excited I am to soak up the warm Miami sun. Appropriately, here are some fun summer shots from Wildfox's Summer collection that consist of everything I want to do this vacation - play by the water, relax and tan :)

TREND: Bright Lips

A must-try trend for this spring and summer are bright lips! The brightly colored pouts were featured all over the catwalks of designers from the likes of Marni, Diane von Furstenberg and Fendi. The thought of a bold lip usually scares most women but all it takes is confidence. I'm a huge fan of lipstick, I think it adds to an outfit just like an accessory does. So far I've invested in two shades, a coral hue by Sephora and a deep pink by MAC. Here are some tips:

• The three trendiest hues for spring/summer are pink, coral and orange. You can then choose within that range which fits you best.
• Make sure you chose the right tone of color with help from a makeup expert or else it can go very wrong.
• Happy lipstick shopping :)

Coachella 2011

This past weekend was Coachella and I'm still heartbroken at the fact that I didn't go (next year, fingers crossed). The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival held annually in Indio, California is not only one of the biggest music festivals in the U.S. but it's also a great venue to check out fashion-forward attendees. The festival features musical genres from alternative/indie rock to electronic music so there's something for everyone! Headliners included Kanye West, Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire and The Strokes; other favorites of mine which performed were Sleigh Bells, Cold War Kids, Interpol, Wiz Khalifa The Black Keys and tons of others! Here are 8 looks from some of the thousands of stylish concert go-ers and celebrities.

These shots from Nasty Gal's spring spread have California girl written all over it. Something about Cali girls that have this fresh, too cool to care look that I LOVE! San Fran was beautiful when I went last summer, looking forward to visiting L.A. sometime soon.

New York City based DJ and part of the Misshapes, Leigh Lezark is the queen of edgy chic. You can usually spot her wearing monochromatic ensembles matching her jet black hair. Not only does this girl have talent musically, but she's been highly acknowledged in the fashion world. She's a badass in my book.
