SUNDAY NEWS: STORE OPENINGS

Hello new and upcoming fashion mecca....I mean, that's what Miami is sure looking to be in the near future. If you thought Forever21 and H&M on Lincoln Road were a big deal, wait til I tell you more.

The Miami Design District is only getting better. As some of you may already know, this is already the home of Christian Louboutin and Marni. As retailers leave the infamous Bal Harbor Shops, they open up shop in this up and coming area in Miami's Midtown. Word on the street is that Cartier and Celine have just recently opened up shop. Yes, Celine. Andrea and I cannot obsesses over Celine anymore than we already do. Apart from these two top retailers Louis Vuitton will be opening up a temporary store on October 19th, and by the end of the year Emilio Pucci, Hermes and Dior Homme will be joining. If that isn't enough, Sephora, Givenchy, Fendi, Marc Jacobs and DVF are "heard" to be opening too. ::jumps of excitement::

I'm also sure most of you have already seen the renovation that Dadeland Mall is undergoing, once it is done it is going to hold 20 new retail stores which are not already in the mall and 6 new restaurants. This "wing" of the mall will be named "Fashion Runway" with the restaurant on the second level overlooking the first floor. Anybody wanna take a guess as to which stores will be opening there?

Don't go too far because we also have 6 new retailers opening up at Merrick Park in Coral Gables. If you were not able to make it to its annual Fashion's Night Out event in September, Jimmy Choo has recently opened. Apart from Jimmy Choo, other luxury retailers to open soon are JCrew, Onda de Mar, Agent Provacateur, Carlo Pazolini, and Pedini Miami. One of my favorite parts of Merrick Park is how it holds luxury designer stores from others parts of the world. Honestly, I think I'm mostly excited about another JCrew opening in Miami.

Last but not least, the Forever and H&M update:

Forever21 on Lincoln Road has been pushed back once again to open on October 20th. Girls, mark your calendars its going to be HUGEEE!!

H&M on the other hand, is planned to open right down the block and around the same time, and not too far in November will open it's multi-story location in Aventura Mall.

Are you excited as we are??

NYFW 2012

Oh New York Fashion Week....... So many styles, looks, collections, amazingness, awesomeness, drop-dead gorgeousness, i-wish-i-had-thatness....that I still can't decide which show was my favorite. So here, I bring you pics from my top...mmm 5 favorite shows, :)

Carolina never fails. I feel like this collection was young and fun. A range of oranges, teals, yellows, and beiges makes these pieces fun to put together. A constant trend throughout the show was the buttoned up shirt with a collar detail. Gives us ideas, a broche or a necklace with a statement pendant under our collar will do.

Also known for their tight slim fitting bandage dresses, I could not wait for this show to start. Leather details are still going to be in for Spring/Summer, making a definite statement and instant small waist. The details in this collection were incredible. They did it again.

Oh Rebecca, not only do your handbags drive me crazy but so do those printed flare pants. Some of the models dressed in all white with just a touch of detail kept me in awe. Rebecca's collection was very clean and fresh, yet young enough for the social butterfly. A little more casual and a bit bohemian chic. I love it!

Once I had seen the Mara Hoffman swimwear collection for Spring/Summer 2013 in MIami Fashion Week, I could not wait to see her clothing collection. Mara has to be one of my favorite designers because of her unique prints and colors. These pictures say it all. This collection was very tropical inspired, with bright colors and palm tree leaves in each models hair. Mara, you make me drool!

Wait! One more...I can't forget this one.

What would you if the rooftop elevator doors opened up to this? At this Nautica's Men's Collection Event....

THE GRAPHIC TEE

I've always been a fan of graphic tees. I have plenty of old t-shirts stashed into my drawers because they're incredibly easy to wear and they never go out of style. You can pair a graphic tee with just about anything and it will bring a complete different edge to an outfit. At the moment I'm really loving animal graphics a la Givenchy or band tees. They look really cool paired with girly or structured pieces like skirts and trouser pants; it creates the perfect contrast between casual and dressy.

3.1 PHILLIP LIM SS '13

via Vogue

I am absolutely obsessed with this collection! Phillip Lim can never EVER do any wrong. He absolutely nails it every time and this time around he took his creativity to the next level by using a cut up method by literally cutting pieces of different fabrics to create one single piece (talk about being an overachiever). The usual clean and prim Phillip Lim has added a little 90s grunge feel to his Spring/Summer '13 collection and it's right on point. Think florals, ankle boots, moto jackets, graphic tees, plaid and denim patchwork. I need everything NOW.

PREEN SS' 13

Preen has made a name for themselves in the fashion world for creating wearable pieces with a unique, complex flair to them. This time around they have created a collection filled with separate pieces like shirts, skirts and trouser pants that are perfect for mix and matching. The collection was broken up into a pink, whimsical floral print and a blue python patchwork print both paired with crisp white. Sheer inserts, collared blouses, thigh slits and bare midriffs are back for next year and I'm not complaining. Check out the rest of the looks on Vogue.

NYFW: BEBE SS' 13

Where do I start? No....but seriously, where do I start?

okay, I have to talk about the BEBE Spring/Summer Presentation which took place outside of the main MBFW. As some friends and I explored into the Chelsea/Meatpacking, we arrive at a gallery where the presentation was being held. Words cannot explain how amazing and jaw dropping it was. So, I'll stop babbling and share....

BACK IN THE 305

HELLOOOOOO MIAMI!!!! :) I know, I know we've both been m-i-a for the past week or so, but I have so much to share! I am so excited!! :) Andrea started her fall semester and not to mention, started working at TOPSHOP!! Yes, the much anticipated Topshop in Dadeland's Nordstrom. ::clapping hands:: Go Andrea! I on the other hand, was one week drooling over all things fashion at NYFW. If I could rewind time, believe me, i would.

It being my first season at NYFW, the weather was perfect, the shows were jawdropping, and the fashion....well, the fashion was insane! Everywhere I looked there was something to look at. Street style was on point. Thanks to my freelance job at LA Splash Magazines WW as Miami Fashion Editor, I was able to get my hands on Photo credentials for the entire week. What does that mean? Access to all the shows! I could have not been more ecstatic. I have plenty of Spring/Summer trends to share with all of you. I mean, I did come back with over 1,000 pictures....editing takes time people.

Meanwhile in NYC, I was able to spend time with close friends roaming the city, in between all fashion events. I was also stopped for some street style shots. YESS!! This has to be one of my most favorite parts of fashion week, along with all the cool venues and presentations outside of the Lincoln Center tents. There is so much to do during NYFW, I wish there were more hours in a day.

I like to call this trip "The start to a new beginning...."
